The Trust Wallet team announced a partnership with Revolut and the addition of Revolut Pay payment system. This will allow European users to purchase cryptocurrency quickly and directly, project representatives told the Incrypted team.
The integration aims to lower barriers to entry on Web3 and simplify first contact with digital assets.
Trust Wallet users will be able to use Revolut Pay, bank cards and transfers to instantly purchase cryptocurrencies, with no Revolut fees. Initially, four tokens are available — BTC, ETH, SOL and USDC.
Integration is implemented in both the Trust Wallet mobile app and the desktop version. According to the team, this is one of the fastest and most convenient ways to top up a wallet with cryptocurrency in Europe — especially for an audience used to simple fintech services.
Trust Wallet and Revolut emphasise that the partnership is focused on solving the «first-time purchase» problem, which remains a key hurdle for new users. Most newcomers face technical difficulties, and Revolut’s familiar interface is designed to eliminate them, the developers believe.
Trust Wallet CEO Eowyn Chen said that buying your first cryptocurrency should be as easy as a regular online payment. She said the integration makes the process accessible and allows users to move more quickly from interest to actual asset ownership.
Combining the convenience of Web2 with the capabilities of Web3 is seen by the company as a step towards creating a complete next-generation neobank. Trust Wallet plans to develop access to DeFi services, tokenised assets and other Web3 features, while retaining the self-storage model.
