Andre Myhren, a member of the band Metal Heads With Broken Hearts, spent time touring the country and performing alongside local artists.

“The welcome we received when we toured the Philippines was incredible,” Myhren recalled.

“Everywhere we played, the crowds were passionate, and the musicians we met were extremely talented.”

The enthusiasm of Filipino audiences stood out to him.

Brummond was later Grammy-nominated for work connected to a project involving rapper Lil Wayne, an experience that gave him insight into how professional recording and artist development operate at the highest level of the industry.

Having spent years inside recording studios, he believes the modern music landscape needs new ways to help talented artists stand out.

“Today there is so much music being released that even incredibly talented artists can get lost,” Brummond said.

He sees the community-driven model behind MyTalent as an encouraging development.

Val Caroche, an experienced independent artist who has spent years performing across the local circuit, believes the biggest obstacle for many talented musicians is simply being discovered.

“Filipino musicians have incredible ability and passion,” Caroche said.
“The challenge has always been getting the opportunity for people outside your immediate circle to hear what you’re doing.”

For Caroche, the most interesting aspect of the platform is the role fans play in supporting artists from the earliest stages of their careers.

“What I like about this idea is that it allows fans to be part of the journey,” he explained.

“When listeners feel connected to an artist early on, the relationship becomes much stronger. That kind of support can make a real difference.”
