PANews reported on December 23 that, according to Crypto Economy, Arizona Senator Wendy Rogers recently introduced three proposals aimed at exempting cryptocurrencies and blockchain nodes from state taxes. These proposals include Senate Bills 1044 and 1045 (SB 1045), and Senate Joint Resolution 1003 (SCR 1003). SB 1044 proposes exempting virtual currencies from state taxes, SB 1045 prohibits local governments from taxing blockchain node operations, and SCR 1003 recommends amending the Constitution to explicitly exclude digital assets from the definition of property tax.
SB 1045 is expected to pass the legislative process, while SB 1044 and SCR 1003 will need to be decided by public vote in the 2026 election. These bills aim to provide tax exemptions for blockchain activities and crypto assets, and may set a precedent for other states to explore similar reforms.
